Meet The Family Behind Stanec's Dolls Ltd.

The head of the Clan. Clive Stanbury. Clive does all the pouring of the greenware for the dolls, keeps the books, and tries to control and run Stanec's like a business. Good luck Clive.  

The family is growing up, and it's hard to keep up with them.  I LOVED the pics of the kids when they were young and we were traveling with them, but the truth is..... they are ALL now at least as tall as me or taller!!!!   Time marches mercilessly on.   So I have had to change some of the photos to "modernize" the site a bit!!!

The face of change - and THIS photo is already four years out of date!!!!   However, it was an important date in our daughter's life, as it marked her graduation with honors and a bursary!!   Congratulations for a job well done!

This is our son Derrick.  He has quite a few mountaineering exploits under his belt.  This picture was taken as he was reaching the summit of Mt. McKinley in Alaska.   He is also the first person to ever successfully summit Mt. Logan solo.....IN THE WINTER!!   No he did not get it from his mom and dad....we are perfectly normal.  But, we are very proud of him.

Well guess what?   They may be bigger, and they may be older, but they still love going to Disneyland with Grandma and Grandpa.  So off we went in December, 2004.... back to the magic kingdom.   Unfortunately, we were sans Robin on this trip.  

Robin didn't get to go to Disneyland, but he did get to come with us to Powell River in 2005.  We took the four younger ones for a week of camping with some friends, and really had a good time.  Even IF the favorite sport of the two older boys was DRIVING GRANDMA CRAZY!!!!

A big event in Robin's life this year was the marriage of his mother.  The boys at the wedding. 
Speaking of change, our dear trouble passed away and as we missed her so much, we finally decided to get a new studio cat.   While no other kitty could ever replace trubby, our new baby certainly has made great strides towards filling the hole that she left behind.  Meet Chico.
 
 
He is now four years old, and has over 60,000 miles under his "wings".  He has traveled the east and west coasts of Mexico, and through the middle, too!!!   He has been all the way across Canada and back through the Northern United States!!!  He has traveled up and down, over and around and all over the West Coast, and Southwest United States!!!  He has definitely earned his travel badge.  This picture shows him in his favorite position, in the co-co-pilot's seat in the motor home.

Sometimes he actually needs to play a more active role.   Here he is riding shotgun.

 
One of the things that is great about traveling around in the motor home is that you meet such great people, some of whom become friends for life.  When you meet another couple that has the same freedoms that you do and who also enjoys doing the same things that you do, it is a real pleasure.  One such couple introduced us to a wonderful sport called "Geocaching" which we have since shared with many other couples that we meet.  A great sport, and it takes you to many trails that you might otherwise never have the nerve to travel.
Some friends you meet along the way..... well.... maybe you just let them stay where you found them!!!!
 
 It's a tough life, but someone has to do it!!!!
