Die Schwester (The Sister) is approximately 18 inches tall on a reproduction German 15 piece latex composition body. The socket head is poured in Seeley's Lady White porcelain, and the skin tones are painted matching the antique Heubach dolls as closely as possible. The hair is painted, as are the intaglio eyes, common to this type of doll. She is a delight with her ring of short sausage curls molded around her head.

The Gebruder Heubach Company of Germany is famous for the beautifully painted children dolls produced by their factory during the late 1800's -   early 1900's. Die Schwester would have been produced originally in the period of 1910 to 1915 (plus or minus). This doll, in the original, is extremely rare. The original of this doll, if available for sale, would cost around $15,000 (US dollars).

Her costume is of fine quality cottons and laces, sewn in the Heirloom Sewing fashion, and consists of a dress, slip and pantalets. Her socks are knit on very fine needles with tatting cotton and are hand made. Her shoes are of German design and are suitable for the doll. The bow in her hair is of silk ribbon, as is her sash.

She comes complete with a metal stand, Certificate of Authenticity, Brief written history of the Heubach Company, and the Resume of the artist, Evelyn Stanbury, GMDM.

She is poseable on her 15 piece composition body.
