Sapphire is 12" tall, Porcelain head on an all porcelain body. The porcelain parts are poured in Seeley's Lady White porcelain, and then the skin tones are applied in multiple firings to achieve the depth of shading required for a natural look. She has painted blue eyes, and wears a synthetic mohair wig styled with upswept curls that cascade down the back of her head. She is made from greenware from a mold designed by Bunny Morris and Paul Jackson. Reproduction doll by Evelyn Stanbury, DAG GMDM, Certified Doll Artisan Guild Instructor and International Award Winning Artist. She has been painted using the doll making technique known as Dimensional Doll Painting (DDP)
Her costume is of fine quality cotton and laces, and consists of a blouse, over dress, slip, panties, shoes and socks. She comes complete with a quality metal stand and Certificate of Authenticity and full resume of Evelyn Stanbury, GMDM, International Award Winning Artist and Certified Doll Artisan Guild Instructor.
Due to the nature of the painting of this type of doll, this "Sapphire" is a one of a kind doll as no two turn out exactly alike.
Her body is jointed at the neck, elbows, and hips. She has neatly sculpted arms and legs, with one knee bent just slightly as if she were starting to walk towards you!
