TETE JUMEAU PAINTING PICTURE DETAIL
* RIGHT EYELASHES *

Lashes are painted with long narrow smooth flowing strokes that taper off to a very fine point. The strokes are regular and even. The color is black, but not too strong. I always start my lashes with the longest corner stroke and judge my angles from there. To me this makes more sense, as it is the only stroke on the lashes that is located on a flat plane and doesn't require any "guessing" as to the slope, curve or plane of the head.

Study the strokes and measurements carefully. Paint a few practice strokes and then using your calipers, take measurements to compare to the antique. Once you find the "flow" of the strokes, getting the proper placement will follow in due course. It takes LOTS of patience (and I speak from personal experience, here!!!)
